A little of history: it is in 1440 when the Genoese built in this place a citadel which lived until XVIII-th century, the seat of the bishop's palace of Nebbio. The city was the theater of numerous tensions during the XVI-th century among French and Corsican Genoese. Finally, after Napoleon had given the order to reclaim swamps, the city knew a revival.
