The boat

The ferry traffic represents 90% of traffic in Corsica.
Six commercial ports (Bastia, Porto Vecchio, Ajaccio, Ajaccio, Calvi, Ile Rousse) connect Corsica Marseilles, Toulon, Nice, Savona, Genoa, Livorno and Piombino.
To the south, the port of Bonifacio connects Sardinia by boat in less than an hour.
The main companies to reach Corsica Corsica Ferries are, SNCM, Southern Navigation Company and Moby Lines.

For your summer, remember to book your tickets months in advance.

The cruise may be another way to visit Corsica. Ajaccio is the main port for cruising Corsica.

The aircraft

Corsica has 4 international airports (Bastia, Calvi, Figari, Ajaccio).


These airports are served by two airlines providing scheduled flights: Air France et Air Corsica. The charter flights and low cost (Easy Jet, Ryanair, XL Airways) complete the offer, mainly from April to October.
Major cities served by airlines are Paris, Marseille, Nice, Lyon, Lille, Toulouse, France to Montpellier, as well as London, Manchester, Cologne, Berlin, Brussels, Geneva for Europe.

How to travel within the island?

It is not always easy to travel by bus on the island because the connections are often seasonal or infrequent.

The network of Railways of Corsica offers four routes in all seasons: Ajaccio / Bastia, Bastia, Corte, Ajaccio / and Calvi Calvi / Bastia. The rail network comprises 232 km and 16 stations.
You'll discover beautiful landscapes thanks to Micheline, and particularly the Vechju viaduct built by Gustave Eiffel (located in the region Venaco).

The car and the bike is undoubtedly the best means of travel on the island. You can either reach Corsica by ferry with your own vehicle or book with many rental car.
Do not forget to book your car before you arrive on the island!
