This village means "beautiful pleasure", doubtless in touch with its geographic situation above the valley of Prato which gives it a very beautiful panorama.

The village possesses its church, the Church Saint Thomas based in 1269 by Andrea Malaspina.
Besides, it is again the Malaspina family which made build the castle of Costa which overhangs the village with a beautiful chapel of white marble of Carrara marble.
