San Martino di Lota is a municipality of Cap Corse. In the town of Bastia, San Martino di Lota is composed of a group of Corsican villages near the sea and the mountains.

Our common

Formerly named the Lota Pieve, the town of San Martinu di Lota is composed of eleven hamlets.

Pietranera is the most important and Grisgione Licciola located on the seafront, Canale, Castagneto, Casanova, Acqualta, Oratoggio, Aneto, Mola and Mucchiete are hamlets in the interior.

Wildlife

The natural environment of the town are home to wildlife including site characteristics of Corsica, in particular:

* Corsican wild boar, absent highly urbanized environments of near Bastia, but on this San Martinu, in the mountain area,
* The rabbit, whose wild populations of the largest and oldest are located on the Cap Corse
* The golden eagle was observed regularly over 800m in the mountain area,
* The bearded vulture was observed in single visitor on breaklines.

Flora

The canopy enough degraded to the sea, because of repeated fires, remains fairly abundant throughout the territory and in particular in the mountain area on the northern slopes and massive DEDS in the Valley
